‘Endless Love’ Premieres Tonight on GMA

A Tale of Everlasting Happiness or Eternal Heartbreak? GMA Network premieres the Philippine adaptation of the beloved koreanovela Endless Love, tonight.

How far would you go to be with the one you truly love? Does love know how to surrender? Can love defy fate and time? Is there an end to love? On June 28, the answers to these questions will be unveiled as the most-awaited local adaptation of the first successful Korean series on Philippine TV begins.

In line with its 60th anniversary celebration, GMA Network offers Endless Love, which features the highly anticipated primetime TV reunion of the most sought-after love team in the country – Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

The phenomenal loveteam of Dingdong and Marian first became popular in Marimar. They followed up this big hit with another successful series, Dyesebel. The two were last seen together on primetime in Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang. This year, Dingdong and Marian are back together as they are set to breathe life to the well-loved lead characters of Johnny and Jenny in Endless Love.

The Kapuso Network’s latest offering also features award-winning actor Dennis Trillo who plays the equally important role of Andrew. Kapuso homegrown artist Nadine Samonte, meanwhile, will portray the antagonist character of Shirley.

Other cast members include a grand ensemble of the industry’s well-respected artists led by Tirso Cruz III, Sandy Andolong, Janice de Belen together with Bernard Palanca, Marco Alcaraz, Gabby Eigenmann, Ces Quesada, Jana Dominguez, Mosang, Bela Padilla and Ms. Kuh Ledesma in a very special role.

Endless Love also introduces three young stars who went through a series of auditions before bagging significant roles in the series. The three showbiz neophytes are Joyce Ching as the young Shirley, Kristoffer Martin as the young Johnny and Kathryn Bernardo as the young Jenny.

Mac Alejandre directs the series, which tells a compelling love story filled with twists and hapless situations that will make the viewers’ tears fall every night.

Lead characters Johnny (Dingdong) and Jenny (Marian) are siblings from a well-off family. They are sheltered and are genuinely loved by their parents Robert (Tirso Cruz III) and Katherine (Sandy Andolong). Johnny loves his sister and is very protective of Jenny, who loves her brother as much.

The perfect and happy lives of Johnny and Jenny turn topsy-turvy when an accident leads their family to discover an incident from the past. The family learns there was a case of baby switching in the hospital the day Jenny was born. They discover that Robert and Katherine’s real daughter is Shirley, the poor, mean and resentful classmate of Jenny.

The lives of Jenny and Shirley are dramatically reversed in an instant. Jenny wants to stay but Shirley keeps pushing her to leave the family she loves so much. Hurting, the weak-willed Jenny decides to run away. Even when Johnny and his family invite Jenny to live with them abroad, Jenny opts to stay with her hostile biological mother Suzy (Janice de Belen) and good-for-nothing brother Jojo (Gabby Eigenmann).

Jenny grows up to be a simple, beautiful and kind-hearted young lady. She works in a hotel resort as a housekeeping staff where she meets Andrew (Dennis Trillo), the conceited and naughty son of the hotel owner gets smitten by Jenny’s charm and beauty.

Andrew does everything to get Jenny’s attention. He soon realizes that Jenny is slowly changing him. The former inconsiderate wealthy guy proudly shares to his bestfriend that he has found the woman he truly loves.

Conflict arises when Johnny returns from abroad to search for his beloved sister Jenny. Soon, the two long lost siblings reunite. Will Johnny and Jenny finally admit that the love they feel for each other is more than just familial love?

But what will these ill-fated lovers do when reality unfurls – that Johnny is the bestfriend of Andrew, who is head over heels in love with Jenny. And although he will fight for the love of his life, Johnny is engaged to his girlfriend Yumi (Bela Padilla). Andrew, on the other hand, is being pursued by Jenny’s archrival, Shirley.

What will happen to the intertwined loves and lives of Johnny, Jenny and Andrew? Who will be the best man to win the heart of Jenny? And what is this secret that Jenny has been keeping from the people who love her?

Kapuso gems Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo star in a chronicle of unwavering love that may either lead to a long-lasting happiness or an eternal heartbreak in Endless Love beginning June 28 on GMA Telebabad.

‘My Marriage to James is Over’ – Kris Aquino

The Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, said today (June 27) on The Buzz that she is giving up on her 5-year marriage to basketball player James Yap.

Here’s the transcript of The Buzz‘s exclusive interview on Kris Aquino which was aired early this evening, June 27, where she disclosed that she has given up on her marriage to basketball star James Yap.

BOY ABUNDA: Krissy, maraming tanong, maraming opinyon, speculations. This is your chance. We will listen. What do you have to say?

KRIS AQUINO: First, I’m sorry about Tuesday [engagement in Cebu]. For so long, ilang buwan naman na nagampanan ko ang lahat ng tungkulin ko, lahat ng responsibilidad sa trabaho at sa kampanya kahit na mayroon kaming pinagdadaanan sa tahanan namin. It was a sign of weakness on my part not to show up, and I’m sorry about that. I’m sorry that you had to be the one to answer because you felt uncomfortable making up an excuse.

About what we’ve been through, I think naman Boy hindi lahat sikreto sa inyong lahat, kung ano ang mga napagdaanan namin in our married life. I think also the whole Philippines is fully aware na when my mom was alive and ngayon, my siblings have tried to bridge whatever gaps — and I mean gaps, marami na kasi. Tinry nila na tulungan kaming ayusin yung mga problema namin.

I have not sat down [with my siblings]…lahat through text — kay ate, kay Pinky. Through phone, nakausap ko si Viel. Nagtext din kami ni Noy. Siyempre sila lahat, gusto nila sana maayos pa.

I just want to say na whatever decision I have come to, it’s not a spur of the moment decision. Hindi ito nangyari na nagising lang ako isang araw at sinabi kong ayoko na. Matagal naming sinubukan. James and I both tried to really make this work.

On my part, what I’m comfortable saying is, with finality I can say, ako sumuko na.

Ang dami kong pinag-isipan kung paano ko maibabahagi sa lahat kung anong pinagdaanan namin without revealing anything painful. But there’s no way of doing that.

Last night, mga 4 in the morning, hindi ako makatulog pa. Katabi ko si Baby James, and I think he had a bad dream kasi he started to cry in his sleep. And that’s when it came to me, and I’m sure lahat ng mga nanay maiintindihan ako. Kung anuman ang dahilan why this marriage, on my part I’m saying, is over, the only person I will owe and explanation to, and the only person who can demand from me na bakit kayo naghiwalay, is my son.

And kagabi Boy, narealize ko, the worst thing I can do for Baby James is, when he’s 7 or 8 years old and mahanap niya sa YouTube yung explanation kung bakit naghiwalay ang nanay at tatay niya. He deserves much more than that. He deserves to hear it only from me and only from James. Because in any separation, there are 2 sides to the story. And we owe it to him, James will owe it to him, that I will owe it to him to explain to him.

But I’m sure you will all understand me. My decision to keep quiet is not because on June 30 magiging presidente si Noy. My decision to keep quiet is because I asked myself ‘Kapag inexplain ko kay Baby James, number one mauunawaan ba niya ako? Number 2, rerespetuhin pa ba niya ako? At number 3, mamahalin pa ba niya ako?’ At nasagot ko naman kagabi na ‘yes.’ I know my son will understand me, will respect me and still love me. And I feel that he will love me more, respect me more, and value me more if I keep quiet today.

I know that will leave so many unanswered questions, but those questions, only Baby James deserves to hear the answers to. Siguro Boy, this is part of growing up. It’s part of realizing that yes, I am public and I owe all of you an explanation, but apart from God, the only one I’m answerable to is kung di man mga kapatid ko eh ang anak ko.

Because I’m doing this for my son, because he’s only 3 years old and he really doesn’t deserve na kung ano yung trials na pinagdaanan ng parents niya, kailangang ungkat-ungkatin at ulit-ulitin, wag na.

Kung this will mean na maraming hindi makakaintindi sa akin or sasabihin, ijujudge ako, then let it be. I don’t mind. The world can judge me. I just want my son to be able to respect me and respect his father. Because at the end of the day, ang utang namin sa kanya. Kasi ang pinakamaaapektuhan ng pangyayaring ito ang anak ko. To a certain extent, of course, it will affect Josh but it’s really Baby James who will really be affected.

And maybe, yung sinasabi ng mom ko sa akin parati na ‘Krissy, love is bringing out the best in each other.’ Maybe Baby James is really bringing out the best in me. And that’s it, Boy. I really hope they understand that this is for my son.

BOY: Naiintindihan ko. Maraming salamat, Krissy.

‘DongYan’ is Box-Office Entertainment Awards’ Love Team of the Year

Kapuso royalties Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera have just won Love Team of the Year from the recently-concluded 2010 Box-Office Entertainment Awards by Guillermo Mendoza Scholarship Foundation.

Incidentally, Dingdong and Marian’s last movie together titled “You to Me are Everything” was a monster hit earning more than P100 million at the box office.

GMA-7 held a theater premiere of the pilot episode of “Endless Love” last June 23 at SM Megamall. It is said that the event was the first-ever theater premiere of a primetime tv series in the Philippines and it was very successful.

During the theater premiere, Dingdong and Marian shared that it was a big challenge for them to do a heavy drama project.

“Ang tagal ko na kasing hindi nasalang sa drama so ito ‘yung pagkakataon ko na ulit para mag-drama so excited ako although ang hirap talaga ng character ni Jenny pero kakayanin,” said Marian.

Meanwhile, other kapuso winners at the 2010 Box-Office Entertainment Awards are Vic Sotto as Comedy Box Office King, Francheska Farr as Most Promising Female Recording Artist/Performer of the Year and the Pop Girls as Most Promising Group Recording/Performing Artist of the Year.

Charice Joins Glee, Finally!

Although she previously denied the rumors, it has been officially confirmed that Charice is joining the cast of Glee!

Last May 23, we posted here in Starmometer a speculation that Charice might join the highly popular tv series “Glee” (CLICK HERE TO READ ARTICLE). We got the hunch during the mini-presscon after the Philippine launch of Charice’s international album when the pop star mentioned that she has a certain “surprise” that according to her, “will surely delight her fans in the coming days.”

Two days after (May 25), celebrity blogger Perez Hilton posted on his website the news about Charice joining Glee but he shot down the article the day after saying he’s been informed that Charice has NOT yet been confirmed on Glee! Charice herself dismissed the rumors on her Twitter account.

Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly became the first to report that Charice is indeed joining Glee’s second season. The website confirmed that Charice will play a foreign exchange student whose killer vocals get Rachel (Lea Michele) contemplating murder.

Just Jared, Perez Hilton, WENN and other Hollywood blogs adapted the report. So is Starmometer since I am a big fan of Charice (obvious naman di ba?), I am glad to report that our speculation has come true!
